This listing has sparked discussions about the potential replacement of key individuals in the entertainment industry by AI, particularly at a time when actors are reportedly earning a meager $200 per day.

The job posting from Netflix emphasizes that AI will not only be employed to develop new algorithms for recommending shows and movies but also to “create great content” across all areas of the business.

Notably, Netflix is also in search of a technical director specialized in generative AI for its gaming studios, with an astonishing salary package of $650,000.

Netflix Investment in AI

Netflix has already invested in AI technology, utilizing it for various projects such as the Spanish reality dating series “Deep Fake Love,” where AI-generated “deepfakes” are created by scanning contestants’ faces.

Additionally, their gaming studio employs generative AI to compose narratives and dialogue, as reported by Engadget.

Coincidentally, during this period, striking actors turned down a proposal presented by the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), which offered a one-time rate of $200 per day for performers to undergo scanning for potential future use.
