The Meteorological Department has issued a nationwide advisory for heavy rainfall, effective from Monday night, cautioning about potential urban flooding due to hailstorms. District administrations are urged to maintain vigilance to prevent flood-like situations. The weather system is expected to persist until July 8.
As per the advise, moist currents originating from the Arabian Sea are likely to infiltrate the upper regions of the country, accompanied by a westerly wave entering the area.

Anticipated regions for rainfall, thunderstorms, and scattered hailstorms include Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Chitral, Swat, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Kurram, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Kohat, Mianwali, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Jhang, and Toba Tek Singh.
A downpour advisory has been issued for all provinces and Gilgit-Baltistan, with the possibility of hill torrents affecting Balochistan.
Furthermore, rainfall is predicted in Barkhan, Loralai, Sibi, Naseerabad, Kalat, Khuzdar, Zhob, Lasbela, Awaran, Musakhel, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Karak, Waziristan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Multan, Bhakkar, Layyah, Kot Addu, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Sahiwal, and Okara from July 5 to 8.
Between July 7 and 8, rainfall is expected in Sukkur, Jacobabad, Ghotki, Shaheed Benazirabad, Larkana, Mithi, Chhor, Padidan, Nagarparkar, Tharparkar, Umerkot, Sanghar, Mirpur Khas, Dadu, Thatta, Badin, Hyderabad, and Karachi.
Warning for Tourists
The advisory highlights that heavy rain may lead to urban flooding in low-lying areas of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Gujranwala, and Lahore. It also cautions about the possibility of landslides in vulnerable regions such as Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from July 4 to 7.

Additionally, heavy rains may cause flash floods in areas of Dera Ghazi Khan and the adjacent regions of northeast Balochistan from July 6 to 8. Farmers and tourists all are advised to make their their activities in accordance with the latest weather forecast.
