Will Pakistan back off from Asia Cup ?

News about Asia Cup became the talk of the town ever since Board of Control for Cricket in India refused to send its Cricket team to Pakistan, saying that event should be take place at a neutral venue other than Pakistan.

The Pakistan Cricket Board presented the Hybrid model to host the Asia cup, carrying some of the matches in Pakistan and some matches in neutral venue as totally changing venue would affect the efforts of Pakistan in regard of return of International Cricket in country.

The Indian Cricket Board rejected the idea of Hybrid model which included four matches of the group in Pakistan and remaing matches at neutral venue.

Pakistan out of Asia Cup

According to the latest sources, the Asian event might take place in Sri Lanka instead of Pakistan. Pakistan will be clearly told to back off if PCB don’t agree to play Asia Cup in Sri Lanka.

The report said, “Pakistan will be categorically told at the next executive board meeting of ACC that all other participating nations have agreed to play in Sri Lanka. PCB, the designated hosts for this edition, is not finding any takers for ita proposal and has to abide by playing in Sri Lanka or pull out”.

India, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bangladesh will be remaining four countries if Pakistan back off from Asia Cup. However, ACC will announce the fifth team in replacement but that is not confirmed yet.

Pakistan as Peaceful Country

Indian Cricket Board is not ready to send their team in Pakistan but earlier, the delegation of ICC declared Pakistan as a peaceful country for sports and they showed their full satisfaction on hosting international matches in country as well as 2025 Champions Trophy.

The delegation of ICC also gave hint of playing a mediating role between PCB and BCCI while seeking assurance of Pakistan about their participation in upcoming World Cup.
