People Should Not Be Permitted To Access Government Buildings
The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Thursday published new instructions saying unvaccinated people should not be permitted to access government buildings as the rise of Covid-19 infections continues unabatedly.
In addition, 641 persons contracted the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the national positivity rate to 3.41 percent. The infection claimed the lives of two people, and 119 victims required critical care.
Cases Double Every Five Days
A representative of the Ministry of National Health Services stated that the epidemic had, regrettably, returned to the nation. “Cases double every five days, hospital admissions are rising, and there are also more recorded fatalities. The fact that detection has not improved outside Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore despite constant attempts, is concerning,” he said.
Over 3 percent positive was observed in five cities. With 390 cases in a single day and a 19.09 percent positive rate, Karachi topped the list. It was followed by Mardan, Muzaffarabad, Lahore, 3.49 percent, and Mirpur, 3.33 percent.
Results Painted A Concerning Picture
The results painted a concerning picture because just five instances were reported in Mardan, where the positive rate was 5.95 percent. There were just 84 tests performed in the city.
Likely 4.62 percent of people in Muzaffarabad tested positive, but only three cases were documented there. Despite having a 3.33 percent positivity rate, Mirpur only had one case since just 30 samples from the city were taken in one day.

Government Offices Should Host Covid Awareness Campaigns
In accordance with NCOC recommendations, government offices should host Covid awareness campaigns, and staff members should be counselled on how to safeguard their families.
“They must also be instructed to stay away from crowded areas. It is required to wear a mask. In offices, the seating arrangement must promote social distance, and this must be maintained during prayer. All restrooms and entrances should have hand sanitizers available.
All Covid-19 Guidelines Issued By The NCOC
“The officer in charge must make sure that all Covid-19 guidelines issued by the NCOC are strictly followed, including vaccine requirements, mask requirements, social seclusion, and hand sanitization.” The guidelines advised against handshakes and advised checking vaccination status.
People exhibiting signs of COVID should not be allowed to enter office buildings, and access points should be monitored for temperature.
“Covid-19 PCR or Antigen testing must be performed on any employee or person exhibiting symptoms like fever, cough, sneezing, or shortness of breath. Before joining, all employees returning from leave must get a negative PCR. A booster or vaccination status check is required. All employees must follow the rules for mask use, social withdrawal, and hand sanitization, according to the recommendations.”
