The United Arab Emirates has sent the 21st plane with humanitarian aid to Lebanon, with medical supplies to Beirut airport. This new delivery is part of the “UAE With Lebanon” initiative, that was launched to help the Lebanese during their struggles. The effort, which is currently under the instruction of UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is a new expansion of the emirates’ continuing humanitarian campaign in the area.
The operational comprehensive aid has been enhanced by direct supervision at the topmost leadership of the UAE. The noble initiative is set under the direction of Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, for the strategic planning and guidance of the initiative while its actualization is under the supervision of International Humanitarian Affairs Council Chairman Sheikh Theyab Bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development Affairs.
The humanitarian aid launched between the UAE and Lebanon proves the Emirates’ unchanging intention to bring the assistance to people of the countries that experience conflict and crisis immediately. This continuous effort is part of a broader UAE approach to stand for communities experiencing exceptional circumstances.
The last shipment relates to providing the needed variety of medical products necessary to cover the needs of the most susceptible groups of the Lebanese population, namely children, women, and seniors. These supplies meet critical healthcare needs during the continuous struggles the Lebanese people are enduring to ensure they receive the required medical aid.
HE Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for International Development and International Organizations Affairs said, UAE remains committed to humanitarian principles. He pointed out that this aid operation is a continuation of giving a noble gesture by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in supporting the needy victims all over the world as the Emirates is ready to stand up in solidarity with the affected communities by disasters and conflicts.
