Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan, recently addressed the plenary session of the 8th edition of Future Investment Initiative (FII) being held in Riyadh. He invited global firms to invest in Pakistan and bring their expertise and creativity.

This year’s FII conference is focusing on global investments aimed at addressing major issues concerning artificial intelligence, space, energy, education, healthcare, finance and sustainability. Several global leaders have arrived in the Saudi capital for the 2-day event.

Participants engage in a dialogue for the promotion of investment and a sustainable future, and simultaneously highlighting the strength of their respective economies. PM Sharif called for collective global efforts and partnerships to overcome contemporary challenges.

Pakistan looking for innovation in 3 pivotal domains

Since assuming office in March 2024, the progress and prosperity of people has been the government’s focus, Shehbaz Sharif stressed. The country is looking for innovation in three pivotal domains: artificial intelligence, education and health.

Inspired by Saudi Vision 2030, championed by Prime Minister HH Mohammad bin Salman, the Pakistani leader said his country shared a common mission to invest in their younger population to ensure a better future for everyone.

Speaking about health, PM Sharif noted that Pakistan’s healthcare sector is currently home to more than 275,000 registered doctors. He also stressed that global human advancement could not take place unless peace is brought back to the Gaza strip.
