The Pakistan Navy has successfully conducted a flight test of an indigenously developed ship-launched ballistic missile. This advanced system is designed to engage both land and sea targets precisely. It boasts of a 350 km range.
The press release by the Directorate General Public Relations (Navy) on Monday highlighted the ballistic missile’s sophisticated navigation system and superior manoeuvrability features, emphasising its strategic capabilities.
Indigenous defence technology for Pakistan’s military capabilities
The Chief of Naval Staff, senior naval officers, scientists and engineers holding connections to the missile’s development kept an eye on the latest test flight. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated all people part of the project on the successful test.
Besides safeguarding the country’s maritime borders, the Pakistan Navy also plays an important role in regional security. Earlier in July, the PN conducted a successful firing of surface-to-air FN-6 missiles through its ground-based air defence system.
The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and other service chiefs also extended their congratulations to the naval units and scientific teams involved, reinforcing the need for indigenous defence technology for Pakistan’s military capabilities.
