Michael Schumacher backed a charitable event by signing a rare crash helmet version that Race Against Dementia will sell to benefit Sir Jackie Stewart’s foundation. Schumacher joined the event after his 2013 skiing accident ended in ten years.

Schumacher let his wife Corinna write his initials MS onto the helmet as Mail Sport. All living Formula One world champions signed the helmet to make a complete historic set which strengthens its significance and worth. At Bahrain Grand Prix Sunday race officials revealed the helmet with Royal Stewart Tartan features designed for Jackie Stewart.

Sir Jackie Stewart shared his positive feedback about having Michael sign the helmet to aid Race Against Dementia, which has no cure. Through their work they secured the signatures of all people who managed race titles.

Sir Jackie Stewart began the Race Against Dementia foundation after finding out that his wife Lady Helen had dementia. In his BBC interview Sir Jackie Stewart described how his medical condition affected his emotions most severely at the moment he failed to recognize and recall his wife.

The auction revenue enables leading dementia studies that aim to develop new treatment methods:

  • Cambridge University runs a study to recognize early signs of dementia using blood tests
  • Medical scientists continue their work both to discover new ways to heal and stop dementia before its symptoms appear.
  • Help groups serve those who have dementia
