The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has issued a Statement in Response to the recent uproar Concerning Misprinted Banknotes asserting that while internal Controls are being Bolstered the Current System Still Carries a Degree of Susceptibility to Errors.

This Statement follows Reports that a National Bank Branch in Karachi received a batch of Currency notes with incomplete Printing on one Side Particularly affecting Rs1,000 Denomination Notes. In a Circulated Video a manager from the branch showcased these partially printed banknotes expressing bewilderment at their existence and indicating that they had been found among newly arrived cash.

Upon inspection it was Discovered that all Rs1,000 notes in the consignment Possessed this anomaly leading to Confusion among bank staff when Customers returned these Misprinted Bills.

The SBP’s Clarification acknowledges that while isolated incidents of Misprinted Banknotes may Occur they are Typically identified and addressed through the Established Checks and Balances in Place. Nevertheless the Bank recognises that no system is entirely immune to errors acknowledging the inherent margin of error present even in meticulously designed Frameworks both locally and internationally.

In this Particular instance only ten misprinted Banknotes were detected at the NBP’s Model Colony Branch a Negligible fraction Compared to the total Volume of Currency Circulated Nationwide. However to Mitigate the Risk of similar incidents in the Future the SBP has Committed to Enhancing its internal Controls.
