Government allocates Rs 15 billion in budget for security of upcoming general elections in October. The Federal government also reserved a sum of Rs 42.41 billion for next year’s fiscal budget of upcoming elections.
According to the details, the amount of over 5.60 billion has been allocated for the prpject management unit and voting in the budget. A sum of 4.83 billion is reserved for the printing of ballot papers.

Printing of Elections list & Training
The amount of Rs 270 million has been reserved for the priniting of election lists and Rs 1.79 billion for election training wing. The total amount of Rs 500 million has been allocated for media coordination.
The government also reserved a sum of Rs 1.2 billion in the next budget for election preparations. Rs 9.65 billion is reserved for elections in Punjab and Rs 3.95 for polls in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Federal government has allocated Rs 3.65 billion for Sindh elections and Rs 1.11 billion for elections in Balochistan. The Election Commission of Pakistan had also proposed the idea of allocating Rs 54 billion for elections in whole country.

The Federal government has assured that the electoral watchdog about providing it with a sum of Rs 47 billion for conducting the polls. The centre has already provided Rs 5 billion to the ECP for the elections.
