psl history rossouw and nawaz scored double centuries
Rossouw and Nawaz’s twin PSL crazy tons break records
Rilee Rossouw and Hassan Nawaz of Quetta Gladiators put on an amazing batting display in a game against Islamabad United. Both made outstanding centuries. Rossouw reached the century in 44 balls, and Nawaz reached his century on the last ball faced by his innings in 45 balls as well.
Despite an early hiccup after being asked to bat first, Rossouw and then Hassan Nawaz took the game by the scruff of the neck. After a series of shots out of the park by Rossouw, he reached the century in PSL history in a mere 44 balls. He was then shortly joined by Hassan Nawaz, who himself played tremendously, hitting 5 consecutive balls out of the park towards the end of his innings, also to reach his landmark.
This past game marks the first time that a pair of batsmen have scored centuries in the same innings in PSL history, and in T20 cricket this is extremely rare. But this also doesn’t happen with a pair that is not an opening pair.
Their accomplishments took Quetta Gladiators to a decades-old PSL record score of 263.
In turn, the Islamabad United chase struggled, reaching only 154 runs. This overwhelming margin of 109 runs saw Quetta Gladiators stay on top of the league standings, thanks to the remarkable feats of Rossouw and Nawaz.
