
Pakistan and China enjoy an all-weather strategic partnership for which Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during the inauguration of the sculptures of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Mao Zedong at the PM House. The event with the presence of Mao Xiaoqing, the niece of the chairman Mao, was the symbolic event to celebrate the long-standing relations of the two states.
In his speech, PM Shehbaz talked about various bilateral ties between Pakistan and China from economic to political and cultural ties, education, and defence cooperation, especially CPEC. He thanked Yuan Xikum, a famous Chinese sculptor for depicting the images of the two founders in the sculptures and stressed that the relations between the two countries for decades were based on reverence and interaction.
The Prime Minister also said that the first lot of Pakistani agriculture students were going to visit China next month to learn new techniques in agriculture, which will also add strength to the education sector. He remembered his trip to China in June this year when the president Xi suggested him to visit terracotta museum in Xian while comparing Pakistan’s Indus Valley civilization in Mohenjo Daro and Harappa.
