In a Strategic Move, the Caretaker Federal Government of Pakistan has Opted to Cease the import of Wheat, Signaling a Decisive stance in the nation’s economic landscape. This Pivotal Decision, Orchestrated by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) stems from the assurance of Stable flour Prices within the Country and an abundance of wheat Reserves.

Sources within the Government have Revealed that Pakistan’s Wheat Surplus is Robust enough to meet Domestic Demands, Highlighting the Nation’s Commitment to Self-Sufficiency. The ECC Played a Crucial Role in this Resolution, Deliberating on the Ministry of National Food Security’s Comprehensive Briefing on the Current state of wheat Supply. The Committee applauded the Ministry’s initiatives, Reinforcing the Government’s dedication to Maintaining Stability in this Vital Sector.

In a Parallel Development the ECC Convened to address Various National Priorities. A Technical Supplementary Grant of 7.15 Billion Rupees was greenlit for Federal Education and Professional Training, Showcasing the Government’s emphasis on enhancing education and Professional Development.

The ECC also Sanctioned a Technical Supplementary Grant of four Billion Rupees for the 7th Population and Housing Census, underscoring the Government’s Commitment to Robust Data Collection and Strategic Planning. The Committee’s approvals Extended to Critical Projects, including the Rehabilitation of Flood-Damaged rural Roads in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Provision of Clean Drinking Water in Lahore under the Japanese Grant.

Furthermore the ECC Supported a Comprehensive Sustainable Plan for Price Rationalization of Subsidized Wheat in Gilgit-Baltistan, Reflecting the Government’s Dedication to fair Pricing Strategies. In a bid to strengthen technological infrastructure, additional funds amounting to 1591.624 million Rupees were allocated for server Procurement and Consultant hiring.
