Pakistan's Rauf Declared Fit for Champions Trophy Opener Against New Zealand

Before their opener against New Zealand for the Champions Trophy Captain Mohammad Rizwan verified that quick bowler Haris Rauf achieved total recovery from his chest injury. Pakistani bowler Haris Rauf recovered from his muscular sprain since bowling in the first match on February 8 by properly warming up in the net sessions.

Rizwan announced at the Champions Trophy press event that Haris had completed successful 6-8 over spells a few days ago and was now demonstrating full bowling intensity. Adding Rauf to the lineup enables Pakistan to field their ideal fast bowling trio which includes Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Rauf during their home ICC event since 1996.

The New Zealand tri-series victory against Pakistan brought optimism from Rizwan while he identified potential areas for the team to develop. He described how their performance in the tri-series served as training for identification of weaknesses which became their focus for improvement. The team captain showed strong desire to win the trophy in Pakistan while highlighting that his players demonstrate an unmatched dedication to their work. Pakistan cricket history was made through this tournament which became the nation’s first ICC event hosting opportunity since three decades as the country reopened its doors for international cricket.
