Pakistan’s Largest Electric Vehicles Charging Network to Launch
Green future ushering in Pakistan with bold plan for establishment of electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure – in pursuance of this all important initiative BYD Pakistan has entered into a partnership with HUBCO Green (Pvt.) Limited to set up the largest EV fast-charging network in the country.
The project comprises the installation of 128 DC fast chargers in Pakistan by 2028, with at least 50 stations being operational by the end of 2025. This may be able to help shift part of the ownership from electric vehicles to any of its biggest concerns and facilitate its general adoption due to range anxiety being an issue worrying many EV owners.
Three Types of Charging Points Across the Country
This includes the three major classes:
1. Urban Charging Hubs
These stations will be installed at busy cities in collaboration with top oil marketing companies like PSO, PARCO Gunvor, and Attock Petroleum. You would find them at fuel stations, dealerships, and key urban spots.
2. Intercity Highway Chargers
There will be chargers established for traveling at 150-200 kilometer intervals on major highways, meaning that longer journey travel between two cities will finally begin to be easy for an EV.
3. Destination Chargers
You will find the chargers also in shopping malls, hospitals, airports, and commercial centers. Such convenient locations will allow EV users to power up while running errands or attending appointments.
Active Already in Major Cities Chargers
And the start has been made now. A few fast charge stations operate in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, notably, at some PSO filling stations and BYD Pakistan outlets. These initial activations indicate that partners are indeed moving fast to make EV charging public.
