(C)Dawn, pakistan airports to go paperless with erp system
ERP – Enterprise Resource Planning is a software system that helps an organization run the entire business, supporting automation and processes in finance and human resources, manufacturing, supply chain services, and more. This initiative was first made by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to improve the infrastructure of the airports by digitalizing it completely hence it also helps to save resources. This system primarily aims to boost efficiency and reduce the reliance on paper-based tasks across airports and other government entities. After the Prime Minister’s instruction, the order was passed to the Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan. Then, the Director General of the Pakistan Airport has instructed the IT department to implement the order of digitalizing the airports very soon.
The authorities strongly believe that an ERP system would help to maintain the database and would promote a more sustainable working environment. If it is completed successfully, the airport authority becomes one of the first government bodies to completely adopt the paperless system, following many other government bodies will commence to implement the paperless system with ERP. In the previous month, the Prime Minister instructed the officials to transform all the government offices to use the e-office system within a month. If he observes any delay in this process his aggrieve might trouble many. He also added, that only this system helps to maintain transparency and efficiency within the government.
“There should be no file work conducted without the e-office system starting next month” – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
