Novak Djokovic Exits Australian Open (AO Open) Semifinal with Muscle Injury

As the Australian Open reached its semifinals phase Novak Djokovic suffered a muscle tear during his match up against Alexander Zverev which forced him to withdraw from the tournament. The Novak Djokovic-driven initiative to win his 11th Australian Open championship drew to an unanticipated close as he fought through an initially challenging set.

At Rod Laver Arena during his Australian Open semifinal Djokovic fought through agonizing pain from a leg injury he had developed while facing Carlos Alcaraz in his previous match. Zverev prevailed in the tiebreak to win the first set and make his Australian Open final debut where he must wait for Sinner or Shelton to emerge through the other semifinal.
