NEPRA reduces KE tariff by Rs7.43/unit

As a result of the fuel cost adjustment (FCA), the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has given its approval for K-Electric (KE) customers to get a decrease in the power rate of Rs7.43 per unit beginning in November 2022.

Following the conclusion of the public hearing

That was held to assess the monthly fuel adjustment (MFA) on a petition that was submitted by the Central Power Purchasing Agency-Guarantee, the reduction in tariff was granted approval.

According to Nepra’s estimates, the move will save the country’s electricity customers a total of 10.61 billion rupees.

In the meanwhile, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has given its approval for an increase in the price of electricity of 0.18 rupees per unit. This increase is due to the monthly fuel adjustment (MFA).

Following the public hearing that was held to assess the monthly fuel adjustment (MFA) on a petition that was submitted by the Central Power Purchasing Agency-Guarantee, the increase was granted approval.

Customers who rely on K-Electric for their lifeline will be exempt from the rate rise.
