The first series of the World Test Championship Cycle 2025- 2027 has begun with a 5 Test series between India and England. The young Indian squad is led by Shubman Gill while Ben Stokes is leading the English squad. The First Test was pushed to the fourth innings with England seemingly given a breezy score of 635 from India.

Ben Duckett and Zach Crawley are standing tall, putting pressure on the Indian bowlers finding ways to keep the runs churning from the innings. The openers’ stance without losing a wicket is getting on the confidence surged by the bowlers from the past innings where Jasprit Bumrah bagged a much needed five- wicket haul amid some poor fielding.

A fast paced fifty by Crawley who is currently 57*(118) assisting his opening partner has been nothing but tiring Bumrah who has been ineffective post lunch. Duckett 95 *(114) puts on his aggressive front scoring runs from his sweeps and edging towards his century.

Fans won’t be surprised if the win goes to the hosts from the run chase in the fourth innings as it has been convenient for the English side to channel a victory from chasing in the fourth innings. Apart from the conditions and the climate, the England batsmen are conscious of not giving up their wickets while also putting scores on the cards, limiting India’s chance for a draw.
