FlyDubai Launches Direct Dubai–Peshawar Flights and Uses Agent Network
FlyDubai, the Dubai-based airline, has launched direct flights between Dubai and Peshawar, representing another step in the airline’s expanding operations in Pakistan.
The inaugural flight landed at Bacha Khan International Airport, Peshawar, yesterday evening with 164 passengers. It received a welcome from airport authorities and customers (164), including a traditional water cannon salute, and cake cutting ceremony.
FlyDubai will now operate direct flights daily (seven days a week) on the Dubai – Peshawar route to cater and provide a better travel opportunity to Pakistanis living and working in the Gulf.
According to the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA), this move is part of an approach to increase the operation of international flights from Peshawar, with plans to add more Gulf and European destinations soon.
Hamad Obaidalla, Chief Commercial Officer of FlyDubai, said: “Pakistan has always been an important market for us.We are thrilled that it can provide travelers even more options to fly to Dubai, GCC, and beyond.” This announcement follows a recent FlyDubai news release announcing daily flights starting July 1, 2024, to Islamabad and Lahore from Terminal 2, Dubai International Airport (DXB).
Fly Dubai started flying to Pakistan in 2010, landing in Karachi. Today FlyDubai travels to a number of Pakistani cities including Faisalabad, Multan, Quetta, Sialkot, and now Peshawar; the quality and availability of Peshawar flights out of Dubai HP has vastly improved.
