FIA and LESCO Reach Settlement to Resolve Overbilling Issue in Lahore

The Federal Investigation Agency FIA and the Lahore Electric Supply Company LESCO have Reached an Agreement to Resolve the Long Standing issue of Overbilling according to recent News Reports. This Development Comes after a Period of Tension between the Two Entities over alleged Overbilling Practices in Lahore’s Electric Supply Network.

Under the Terms of the Settlement LESCO has Committed to addressing Overbilling within the Next three Months. This Process will involve Replacing the Electric Meters of Pending Connections which has been a Point of Contention between LESCO and the FIA. The Phased approach to Ending Overbilling is intended to Gradually Resolve Discrepancies and Ensure Accurate Billing for LESCO Customers.

FIA Officials Noted that they will Notify the LESCO Administration in Writing if there are any further Complaints Regarding Billing Practices. In Response LESCO has assured the FIA that they will Provide a Detailed Explanation within a Couple of Days if any issues Arise. Furthermore the Agreement Stipulates that FIA Teams will not Raid LESCO Offices during this Phase of Reconciliation Fostering a more Cooperative approach to Resolving the Overbilling issue.

The FIA and LESCO have been at odds Over this Matter with LESCO Earlier Barring its Revenue Officers from appearing before FIA Teams to answer Questions about Overbilling. This Created a Stand off that Required an Amicable Resolution. The Situation Escalated when Revenue Officers Failed to appear for a Scheduled Meeting with FIA investigators in April which was intended to Review a Two Year Record including data on Deduction Units and Charged units Due to Meter Changes.
