Famous star of sitcom “fifty-fifty” passed away in Lahore today morning. The actor was starred in history’s famous comedy drama, fifty-fifty. The drama also starred famous actor Ismail Tara who also died recently because of illness.
Famous star of fifty-fifty will be buried in Karachi today. Majid Jahangir was battling with respiratory illness from last month. He got seriously ill and got hospitalized because of his spine broke injury.

Majid Jahangir started his acting career in Moin Akhtar’s show Saat rung. After that he got starred in fifty-fifty which totally changed his acting career and he got overnight fame due to his brilliant performance in the sitcom. Other actors who got fame from fifty-fifty are Bushra Ansari, Ashraf Khan, Zeba Shahnaz and Ismail Tara.
This drama from history got fame across the country and so as the actors who performed in the show. Majid Jahangir acted in the show till its last episode which aired in 1985. The actor after the show end moved to United Kingdom and lived a long time there.
On telling his financial state in the –last days –of his –life, actor –got emotional and told that –he do not even have enough money to buy medicines.

The famous Majid Jahangir also got his place in Aamir Liaqat Hussain’ shows and the famous comedy show khabarnaak. Throughout his acting career he made other people laugh all the time. Co-actors found him very down and earth and lively personality on camera and off the camera.
In 1980s Jahangir was also awarded with Tamgha e Imtiaz, and lifetime achievement award. He also got pride of performance award for his best performance in fifty-fifty. May his soul rest in peace.
