Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has taken Swift action following Reports of two more individuals being injured by loose Kite Strings in Lahore. These incidents come Despite the Stringent measures already in Place to Curb the Dangerous Practice of Kite Flying Particularly the use of Hazardous Metal Strings.

One victim a Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) Employee named Rizwan found himself Entangled in a loose Kite String while Riding his Motorcycle along Nishtar Road. Another Resident of Lahore’s Model Town Suffered a Similar Fate further Highlighting the Grave Risks Posed by this Activity.

Expressing her Concern over these incidents CM Maryam Nawaz has Ordered a Report from the Inspector General of Police and Reiterated her Commitment to ending the Perilous Tradition of Kite Flying. She Emphasized the importance of Collective Responsibility urging Citizens to Cooperate with the Government in Putting an End to this Practice.

The Crackdown on Kite Flying in Punjab has been Ongoing with the Police Registering Numerous Cases and making Arrests Particularly after a Tragic incident resulting in the Death of a Youth in Faisalabad. The Authorities have Confiscated a Significant number of Kites andMetal Strings indicating the Scale of the Problem.

Not limited to Punjab the menace of Kite Flying has Prompted action in other Cities as Well. In Karachi the Commissioner has imposed a Ban on the Sale and Flying of Kites Following a Series of Serious injuries caused by loose Strings. This Ban Enforced under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code underscores the Severity of the issue and the need for Comprehensive measures to Protect Public Safety.
