The PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf invited BCCI chairman Jay Shah to visit Pakistan during the Asia Cup. Both the officials met in a friendly atmosphere on the sidelines of an International Cricket Council meeting in South Africa.
Jay Shah congratulated Zaka Ashraf for taking his position as Chairman of the PCB management committee. Chairman BCCI and Chairman PCB engaged in important discussion regarding revival of cricket between both the countries.

They also discussed participation of Pakistan in the upcoming World Cup and the potential increase in matches to be played in Pakistan as part of Asia Cup, as the countries agreed on Hybrid model.
Resumption of Bilateral Cricket between Pakistan & India
PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf invited Jay Shah to visit Pakistan to watch Asia Cup matches. This step would also help Pakistan, India to explore new ideas for revival of Pakistan and India friendly Cricket.
Zaka Ashraf said, “Pakistani people know how to welcome and take care of their guests. This is a good start. We will have more such meetings in the future”.
Both the leaders emphasized the importance of establishing confidence-building measures between the cricket boards of both nations and promoting cricket relations. The last cricket series between Pakistan and India occurred back in 2012.

The World Cup 2023 is also scheduled to take place from October 5 to November 19 in India. Pakistan is still in the decision process to ensure Pakistani Cricket Team participation in the World Cup.
