arjun taneja backs aamir khan amid ‘boycott’ trend
Aamir Khan is now put under severe internet backlash ignited after the trailer of his upcoming anticipated movie ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ was released on Tuesday. The actor’s past videos and photos with the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and first Lady of Turkey brought in severe retaliation for the actor.
The actor’s long awaited release as a spiritual sequel of the beloved ‘Taare Zameen Par’ also received backlash for its frame to frame replicated trailer cut and meanwhile now #BoycottAamirKhan’ has sparked rumours. An old video of Aamir Khan speaking in a conference asked about him residing in India for which the actor replied that he is uncertain of his safety in the country.
Netizens quickly used the video clip to share the #BoycottAamirKhan that set ablaze on X, only as a continuation of the internet boycotting Turkey and Baku along with the actor. While many videos have been shared of the actor with the hashtag, TV actor Arjit Taneja defended the ‘3 Idiots’ actor.
Arjit Taneja left a post that urged the fans to not spread hate and do what they can do for the nation. The post read, “Keep your dumb commentary to yourself. Aur kuch karna hai toh desh ke liye kar. Ghar pe baith ke phone ke peeche bakwas karne se aur views milne se khush mat ho. Ps I love my country. But won’t be spreading unnecessary hate, instead will do what I can and what’s in my hands.”
His post as expected was met with mixed statements and opinions from fans with one person commenting “awww!! muh par ek fact marke phenka toh no counter point on this ?? Ps-I love my country and will not stop calling out those who carry unnecessary hate towards it.”, for which Taneja replied in brief of not saying anything hateful to a ‘so called nationalist’. Aligning with Taneja, another user commented, “Well said”. Arjit Taneja is known for his TV roles in ‘Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye’, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ and even participating in the reality TV Show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 13’.
Aamir Khan is yet to comment or respond to these rumours as he already reflected his support to India through his Production house page, posting commendable and grateful words for the Armed Forces and towards PM Narendra Modi. Meanwhile ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ trailer has gotten some wholesome reactions and is trending on YouTube with 60 Million views recorded in a day.
