Pakistan And India Set For Asian Games Men’s T20 Cricket Final

Pakistan India Asian Games final

Pakistan will play India in the Pakistan India Asian Games final, the men’s T20 cricket gold-medal match at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan on Saturday, October 3. Pakistan will play in the final after a six-wicket win against Bangladesh, while India reached the final after crushing Sri Lanka by 124 runs.

The final will be played at Korogi Sports Park, Nisshin. Pakistan’s strong run through the knockout stage has taken them into a big Asian Games title contest. It will also be the first time that Pakistan and India will clash in men’s cricket at the Asian Games.

Gold Medal Match Berth For Pakistan After Bangladesh Win

Pakistan staged a brilliant recovery against Bangladesh, losing four wickets for 53 runs while chasing 112 in the rain-reduced 13-over contest. Abdul Samad and Hasan Nawaz added an unbroken 59-run stand for the fifth wicket to steady the innings as Pakistan reached 112 for four in 11.3 overs.

Samad’s unbeaten 30 off 15 balls, including five fours and a six, provided the winning acceleration while Hasan finished at 27 off 22 balls. Saim Ayub also made 21 off 12 balls as Pakistan wrapped up the chase with nine balls to spare.

Pakistan Reach Final In Rain-Hit Asian Games Campaign

Pakistan’s path to the final has been a tale of many weather interruptions. The quarter-final against Hong Kong was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to persistent rain, and Pakistan advanced to the semi-finals as the higher-ranked side under the tournament regulations.

This was Pakistan’s first successful knockout of the tournament as they defeated Bangladesh in the semi-final. The batting unit showed poise after early setbacks while the bowling unit ensured Bangladesh did not put up a bigger score in the shortened contest.

Pakistan now have a chance to win gold against India in the final at the same venue at the Asian Games. The tournament schedule has confirmed a clash between Pakistan and India on October 3 at Korogi Sports Park, Nisshin.

India Marches On After Comprehensive Win Over Sri Lanka

India entered the final with a convincing 124-run win over Sri Lanka in the second semi-final. India made 169 for seven and then bowled Sri Lanka out for 45 in 9.5 overs in a total all-round performance.

Ishan Kishan played a vital role with an unbeaten 80, providing the Indian batting with the platform needed for a big total. Thereafter, India’s bowlers kept the pressure on as Sri Lanka’s innings soon crumbled.
