Consulate General of Pakistan Consulate Jeddah has introduced an online appointment system for National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) and Machine Readable Passport (MRP) services. The initiative is aimed at making essential consular services more organised and accessible for Pakistani nationals living in western Saudi Arabia.
Under the new system, applicants choose an available appointment slot before coming to the consulate. Bookings were opened on September 20, and from October 1, 2026, NADRA and MRP services will be provided only by appointment, the consulate’s announcement said.
Online Booking Aims To Cut Down On Wait Time For Applicants
Overseas citizens can face problems in getting identity and passport-related services due to long queues and waiting times. The Jeddah appointment system is designed to address this issue by allocating specific time frames and reducing the waiting time for applicants who lack a service window.
Applicants can complete the booking from home, and upon confirmation of the appointment, they receive an SMS notification and tracking ID. A further way to check up on your appointment details is via the tracking facility, which also provides applicants with a more transparent record of their scheduled visit.
NADRA Services Still Vital For Overseas Pakistanis
Identity documentation is a requirement for many administrative and legal processes and, thus, NADRA’s services are particularly important for Pakistanis living abroad. NADRA centre in Jeddah provides services for the Smart National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis, such as new applications, modifications, renewal and reprints.
Jeddah NADRA centre is serving the Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia, especially the residents of the western region, the Consulate General of Pakistan said in an official statement. The centre has office timings listed from Sunday to Thursday between 8 am and 4 pm, with details of documentation requirements for different services.
More Organised Access To Passport Services
The services of the Machine-Readable Passport are another important component of the new appointment arrangement. Pakistani citizens living abroad require valid passports for international travel, employment or other official purposes such as residency, so timely access to passport services is particularly important for the overseas community.
The Consulate General of Pakistan in Jeddah has a separate passport section and NADRA section. Official consular information indicates the established administrative structure through which passport applications are processed in the mission, identifying separate staff responsible for MRP services.
Digital Consular Services To Facilitate The Overseas Pakistan Community
The Jeddah initiative is part of a broader drive to give overseas Pakistanis digital access to services. Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides an option for an online appointment system with options to book, track and cancel appointments. This is a reflection of the wider emphasis on electronic tools within consular administration.
Digital services can be of particular benefit to overseas communities, where applicants may have limited flexibility to make repeat visits to diplomatic missions. Online scheduling, wherever available, can reduce unnecessary trips and provide applicants with clearer information prior to their consulate visit.
Appointment System Improves Organisation And Transparency
The Jeddah initiative is part of the efforts to make consular services more convenient and friendly for the citizens, said Consul General Syed Mustafa Rabbani. During a briefing with media representatives, the system was presented as a method to improve organisation, transparency and efficiency at the consulate.
Fixed appointment slots can help to make daily visitor numbers more manageable. This could enable the consulate to plan staffing and service capacity based on scheduled applications rather than on primarily walk-in demand, which may foster a more orderly environment for applicants as well as officials.
Western Saudi Arabia Pakistani Nationals Can Prepare In Advance
The new arrangement puts more emphasis on planning by citizens who seek NADRA or MRP services. That means from October 1, applicants will need appointments for these services, which makes booking an important part of the process.
The consulate has advised members of the Pakistani community to familiarise themselves with the new process and make appointments beforehand. Applicants can also seek help from the consulate if they need clarification on the appointment process or relevant documentation.
Modern Consular Access Enhances Support For Overseas Pakistanis
Pakistan’s overseas community continues to be an important part of the country’s social and economic links to the wider world. The consular missions provide necessary documentation and administrative help. Welfare services also help Pakistani citizens with a wide range of issues in Saudi Arabia. Issues like aiding overseas Pakistanis, complaints and support, for example, are handled by the Welfare Wing of the Jeddah mission.
Improving access to routine documentation services can be part of a wider, more responsive consular system. Efficient processing of identity and passport services can help relieve administrative burdens on citizens as well as enable diplomatic missions to better allocate funds to other community needs.
The Jeddah Initiative Is Part Of Broader Digital Service Enhancements
The shift to online appointments follows a trend among Pakistani diplomatic missions, which are increasingly adopting digital instruments to manage engagement with citizens living abroad. Appointment platforms, online identity services and digital passport applications can together cut back on long-winded manual processes.
The Jeddah system offers Pakistani nationals in western Saudi Arabia a more predictable way to obtain services from NADRA and the passport authority. Routine visits are easier to manage when you can book in advance, set time slots, and get SMS confirmation and tracking information.
