Pakistan weather alert 2026

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has warned under Pakistan weather alert 2026 that temperatures are rising 5–7°C above the normal seasonal level across the country. The heatwave is likely to continue till the last days of May 2026, especially in Sindh, Punjab and Balochistan.

Sindh To Witness Extreme Heat

The worst heat is likely to be experienced in Jacobabad, Sukkur and Larkana with maximum temperatures expected between 47°C and 50°C in Sindh. The coastal winds will keep Karachi relatively cooler, but the temperature, ranging from 35°C to 38°C, with humidity, may cause discomfort.

Punjab And Islamabad Are Still Under The Spell Of Scorching Heat

Other plain areas of Punjab, including Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, and Islamabad, are also experiencing severe heat, with the day temperatures likely to stay between 42°C and 45 °C. The long dry spell is still affecting daily routines, electricity usage and water consumption in several districts.

Balochistan’s Weather Continues To Be Hot And Dry

Turbat and the adjoining plains of Balochistan are still in the grip of a prolonged dry spell and high temperatures. Some isolated breezy winds and thunderstorms in a few northern and southeastern areas may provide some limited relief.

Pmd Urges Citizens To Observe Safety Precautions

Officials across Pakistan are working to raise awareness about heat safety and protect public health. “Citizens are advised to drink plenty of water, avoid the sun during the hottest part of the afternoon and wear light clothing to minimise heat-related risks.

As Pakistan continues to grapple with one of the strongest heatwaves of the season and to keep vital services running across the country, emergency services and local administrations are on alert.

Latest PMD forecasts show that the hot and dry weather conditions are likely to last until early June, so the residents of Pakistan need to keep exercising caution.
