Met office forecasts rain and snowfall in Pakistan up to Feb3, and there are landslides anticipated in the mountainous areas and north. The Pakistan Meteorological Department has projected that a new weather pattern will cause a heavy rain and snowfall especially in the western and mountainous part of the country. This spell has been warned by the authorities to disrupt the normal way of life, travel, and road connectivity in the sensitive areas. The citizens are being urged to keep up with the official warnings and precautions and remain informed whenever the Met Office predicts rain and snowfall, particularly in areas that are characterized by cold winter conditions and landslides.
Rain and Snowfall Expected in Multiple Regions
The Met Office foretells the rain and snowfall, therefore, the northern Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will see the rainfall with snow in higher regions. Intermittent rain is also predicted in Islamabad, Potohar region, Punjab, Murree, and Galiyat. Rain and snowfall predicted by Met Office can pose a higher risk of landslides on upper KP, GB, and Kashmir.
