The Trade war deepens as Trump’s apparent ignorance on US’s imports of fertilizers and uranium trade from Russia makes headlines. This comment follows his threat to India on Russian oil imports, Trump during a White House Press meet reveals that he is unaware of Washington’s imports from Moscow. 

Delhi has pointed out the imports from Russia to the US while denying the massive 25% tariff slam from Trump. Now on 5 August, Trump claims “I don’t know anything about it. I have to check it out,” on India’s comments. 

Since January 2022, the US has imported $24.51 billion of Russian goods. In 2024 alone, Washington imported fertilisers worth $1.27 billion,  uranium and plutonium worth  $624 million and palladium worth around $878 million from Moscow, reports NDTV.
