2025 26 pakistan domestic schedule announced
National T20 Tournament with Associated Qualifying Round
The National T20 tournament will include a qualifying round! The qualifying round will run from 3 – 11 February 2026 for the first time ever. The regional teams – Multan, Bahawalpur, Rawalpindi, and AJK will compete along with 6 other teams for two spots in the Super 10 round from 1 – 12 March in Faisalabad.
The Super 10 round will include eight teams, other than the regional teams, and would include the Karachi Region Whites, Lahore Region Whites, and Peshawar.
Youth and Development Pathways in Focus
According to the Director of Domestic Cricket Operations, Abdullah Khurram Niazi, the PCB is committed to creating a growth pathway that is long-term. The 2025-26 season introduces U15, U17, and U19 tournaments, alongside school, college, university and inter-district competitions at the grassroots level.
The best players in the Hanif Mohammad Trophy may be offered guest player opportunities in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy and could potentially be contracted for domestic cricket, which can promote high performance and provides another opportunity for players to be exposed to talent identification.
A Future-Driven Domestic Model
PCB COO Sumair Ahmed Syed said the new model is focused through performance rather than reputation, with the accountability that every game/season now matters. “Building intensity takes place in every version of the game to prepare cricketers for international pressures,” he said.
The newly announced 2025-26 calendar highlights a truly new merit-based pathway for developing talent from grassroots to national level, and generating a competitive environment and performance in the cricket ecosystem in Pakistan.
