Pakistan Netball Team Excels in Win Over Saudi Arabia
Pakistan’s women’s netball team started its Asian Netball Championship 2025 campaign in flying colours with a comprehensive win over Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. The Green Shirts were brilliant throughout the game, exhibiting tremendous skill, teamwork, and fitness.
Talented players such as Star players: Lia Raza Shah, Alisha Naveed, Samia Safdar, Halima, Sareena Hussain, Jasmine Farooq, Farah Rasheed, and Pareesa led the way with great passing and goal scoring skills. Their sharp moves had Saudi Arabia constantly off balance.
Officials from the Pakistan Netball Federation, led by Chairman Mudassar Arain, President Sameen Malik, and Secretary General Muhammad Riaz, congratulated the squad on their excellent start.
Pakistan’s next group stage match is against Chinese Taipei on June 28; followed by South Korea (June 29), Japan (June 30) and Maldives (July 1).
The championship consists of 11 nations divided into two groups. Group A consists of Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, and India. Pakistan is in Group B with Chinese Taipei, Japan, Korea, the Maldives, and Saudi Arabia. The tournament runs until July 4, and Pakistan is looking to create a strong impression with its 12-member squad, which includes:
Parisa Abbas, Amani Fuad Garib, Alina Maya Garib, Leya Raza Shah, Alisha Amer Naveed, Israh Umer Malik, Haleema Sakina Safdar, Sarina Naseem Hussain, Sumaya Safiya Ahmed, Sumayya Kauthar Safdar, Jasmine Elizabeth Farooq, and Farrah Sherry Ross Rashid.
The team is managed by Mudassar Razak with Amanda Arleen as Head Coach, Haroona Bario Zaman as Assistant Coach, and Irfan Sadia Hussain taking care of medical care.
