Pakistan Sports Board recognizes national heroes, dispensing Rs 72 million 

The Pakistan Sports Board has announced a total of Rs 72 million in support for national athletes and sports officials, providing them with awards and grants. The awards and grants will be used to encourage and support sporting talent and develop sports in facilities all over Pakistan.

In total, Rs63.9 million has been provided to different Sports Federations, allowing them to recognize how to improve and develop opportunities for training, events, and resources for athlete development. By increasing the opportunities to practice and developing better sports facilities, the hope is to increase the overall standard of sports in Pakistan and to allow athletes to compete at a higher level internationally and contribute to promoting Pakistan’s name at an international level.

The PSB has also provided Rs8.1 million in awards to individual athletes and sports officials who have performed exceptionally and whose contributions deserve reward. 

The campaigns discussed above are an element in the multi-faceted larger initiative by the PSB towards sustainable growth in the sports sector. The PSB hopes to make the most of both infrastructure and the people, creating a landscape where talented athletes can build their talent into a profession and ultimately strive and succeed in bringing positive recognition to Pakistan on a global level.

Financial support from the PSB should also inspire an increasing number of young people in Pakistan to become competitive and develop skills and professionalism in sports, making the notion of engaging with sports in the country with completed awareness at an early age, sustainable; an issue Pakistan, and also professional sports associations should take notice of if leadership companies want to continue their emphatic success on the world stage in sport.
