Holidays and Dates for Eid ul Azha 2025 in Pakistan
Eid al-Adha (Eid ul-Azha) in Pakistan is expected to be on Saturday, June 7, 2025, but this is provisional until the official moon-sighting committee establishes the date by the lunar months of the Islamic calendar.
The Government of Pakistan has officially declared the public holidays for Eid al-Adha will be from Thursday, June 5, to Monday, June 9, 2025. So do not blame people for being excited about a long weekend a year from now. The time off allows much more space for family and faith observances during the days away from work preceding Eid day.
Eid al-Adha
Eid al-Adha is one of the two major Islamic celebrations. The day all Muslims reflect on the act of obedience of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) when he was commanded to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to Allah. The day includes deep prayers, the ritualistic animal sacrifice (Qurbani), and distribution of meat to the poor and needy emphasizing brotherhood and charity.
