sindh sets june july summer break for all schools in province

All schools in Sindh will be on summer break from June 1 until the end of July 2025, as ruled by the provincial government. Authorities from the School Education & Literacy Department revealed a circular outlining when the winter break starts, which will also affect schools under private management across the province. A subcommittee composed of educators met last November 2024 to analyze the school’s academic planning needs before this announcement.

All learning centers linked to the department must obey the current academic year’s holiday schedule while operating. Courses start at a time when summer break often takes place, giving students and staff extra time off from the heat.

Because of harsh weather this year, the Punjab province has adjusted its calendar for the school term. Authorities in Punjab have brought forward the start of their summer holidays, with summer recess now starting on May 28 instead of June 1.

To keep students safe from extreme heat, educational officials in Punjab also changed the daily routine and asked schools to finish morning classes by 11:30 AM. Such changes reflect the mounting worries about temperature rises troubling students and school staff everywhere in Pakistan. It is clear from the joint efforts that provinces understand the climate-related problems in the education system.
