The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Friday to move the remaining matches of the HBL Pakistan Super League X to the United Arab Emirates from Pakistan. The decision will be impacting eight major matches including playoff and championship final. This late season venue shift takes place as the tournament is entering its most crucial stage when its about to be the finale.

The affected matches include four league encounters:

  • Karachi Kings versus Peshawar Zalmi
  • Peshawar Zalmi versus Lahore Qalandars
  • Islamabad United versus Karachi Kings
  • Multan Sultans versus Quetta Gladiators

In addition, all playoff games will be played in the UAE, such as the Qualifier, both Eliminator games, and the championship Final that will decide this season’s PSL champion.

PCB officials have said that a revisal schedule, which lists dates and venues, will be out soon in the country. To the Cricketers, they expect matches might be separated into competitions in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah – cities with previous experience of hosting the PSL matches.

This is another case where the PSL has partly moved to the Emirates, which was previously used as Pakistan cricket’s home ground at tough times. The PCB continues to pledge to complete the tournament successfully despite the logistical hardship that relocation of this event presents to teams, broadcasters, and viewers.
