netanyahu demands complete iranian nuclear dismantlement
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu continues to pressure for the complete demolition of Iranian atomic facilities even though Washington and Iran maintain ongoing roundtable negotiations. Three rounds of indirect US-Iran communications mediated by Oman seek to stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons while easing the economic sanctions. The acceptable agreement, according to Netanyahu, needs to follow the complete 2003 disarmament process.
Iran’s official spokesman, Abbas Araghchi, strongly condemned Netanyahu by accusing him of making demands to Donald Trump and threatening action if Trump ordered military strikes on Iranian sites.
The ongoing dispute took place after Iran fired missiles at Israel in 2024, thus prolonging existing tensions. Netanyahu continues to advocate for ballistic missile restrictions in the agreement, although US reports show they are reluctant to participate in military strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities at present.
