Pakistan bat first against Thailand in must-win World Cup qualifier
On Thursday, in the fourth match of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 Qualifiers, Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat first against Thailand. Match under lights at Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium; stakes couldn’t be higher-a place in this year’s World Cup is at stake.
Pakistan is coming off a high with a confident 65-run win against the West Indies earlier this week. That win, owing much to Sidra Amin’s brilliant performance and a well-coordinated bowling effort, saw Pakistan rise to the top of the table while maintaining their unbeaten run.
Now, with an unbeaten three wins from three matches, Pakistan should be confident against Thailand, who are lower-ranked and still trying to settle into their groove.
Tournament At A Glance:
This is an ICC event of six teams: Pakistan, Bangladesh, Ireland, Scotland, Thailand and West Indies. All the matches are being played in Lahore, at the Gaddafi Stadium and the LCCA ground, in a single round-robin format. The two teams that will qualify for this tournament will participate in the ICC Women’s World Cup, which is to be held in India later this year.
