PSL 2025 Kicks Off with Fireworks, Music, and Energetic Action.
The grandeur of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 began at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium with an extravagant flair of music and lights interspersed with a plethora of cricketing excitement. For the first time, Rawalpindi made its debut with the first match in tournament history, and one could say it was magical.
A Colourful Start to a Historic Season
After all the fanfare, Islamabad United, the defending champions and two-time winners, stood on the threshold of this year, the season that everyone had been so eagerly waiting for.
There will be 34 matches this year, with three thrilling double headers on the schedule on April 12, May 1, and May 10. The matches will take place in Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi.
Big Prizes, Bigger Dreams
While the PSL 2025 champions will bag an incredible $500,000, the runners-up will pocket a sizeably generous prize of $200,000. The teams were earlier revamped in this regard during the PSL X Draft held on January 13.
Multi-City Stadium Action
- Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, shall host 13 matches, including playoffs and the final on May 18.
- Rawalpindi Stadium will stage 11 matches.
- Multan shall conduct five matches while Karachi.
Star Players and Captains Being Held Ahead of Time
- Babar Azam will be leading Peshawar Zalmi, aiming to extend his record as the highest run-scorer
- David Warner is the fourth foreigner to captain Karachi Kings.
- Mohammad Rizwan is still the captain of Multan Sultans.
- Saud Shakeel has taken over as captain of the Quetta Gladiators.
