The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has decided to take a complete break from politics for sometime now due to medical reasons. According to the Ary News, the experienced politician has had some issues with his left foot swelling, which occurred after his last sit down with the PM Shehbaz Sharif last week.
The health issues came up after an important sitting on December 20 during which Rehman with party members Molana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri and Senator Kamran Murtaza went to meet PM Sharif on Seminary Registration Bill. The senior level caucus which involved key political leaders from the PPP and PML-N centered its discussion on issues of the bill. During the discussion, Mr. Prime Minister Sharif had instructed the Ministry of Law to initiate the constitutional measures to look into the issues raised by the opposition party.
Political activities of the JUI-F chief has momentarily taken backstage due to his critical health condition, with the doctors suggesting him not to walk at all and insisting on complete bed rest. The timing is rather special as it comes during the debate over the Seminary Registration Bill an issue of immense interest to the religious political party.
