In diplomatic and economic cooperation, a 15-member Chinese business delegation accompanied by key industry leaders arrived in Karachi to seek potential business partnerships in multi-sector investments in Sindh province. The recent official important meeting with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah brought visions of bright cooperation in such sectors as agriculture, renewable energy, medical technology, livestock, and industrial production. This comprehensive approach indicated a good willingness of the delegation to establish a serious partnership with the provincial government.
The delegation included nine medical companies’ representatives, agricultural firms, photovoltaic enterprises, and livestock specialists; the nine representatives held a working session on Sindh’s economic potential. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, also spoke of the province’s economic advantage based on sound infrastructure and business-friendly policies aimed to foreign direct investment. Provincial ministers Sharjeel Memon and Nasir Shah were present for the meeting as were Secretary to the Chief Minister Rahim Shaikh and Investment Secretary Khurram Shahzad.
Ironically, representatives from different areas of Chinese industries showed great concern in seeking potential cooperation in multiple industries. Potential channel frameworks were explored with medical technology decision-makers, biochar application specialists in agriculture, photovoltaic companies, and livestock importers. The delegation’s composition was very versatile and it was interesting to see that everyone from solar energy representatives to representatives of a rather specific and high-tech form of agriculture were positive about Sindh’s investment outlook.
