Babar Azam Speaks After Defeat to USA

Pakistan cricket team lost first match to USA team. This loss was big sadness. Players and fans felt very sad. Pakistan captain Babar Azam talked about team’s bad play after match. He said Pakistan team could not score many runs in starting overs of batting. Later they scored some runs but lost too many wickets. He said losing wickets in middle overs is not good. Babar said pitch conditions were a bit difficult with moisture and uneven bounce. But he clearly said these were not excuses for bad play. He said team must play better in all conditions.

Difficulties in Scoring Runs

The big problem was Pakistan team not able to score many runs in the first few overs when they were batting. Even though they started scoring runs later, they lost too many batsmen quickly which stopped their progress. This showed how important it is to have batsmen stay together and keep scoring in the middle overs.

The pitch was a bit difficult with some moisture and uneven bounce. But Babar said these pitch issues were not excuses for their poor batting. He said the team needs to be professional and adjust their game to whatever pitch conditions they get. Pakistan players must be able to look at the pitch carefully and change how they bat based on if the pitch is bouncy or spinning a lot.

During the Super Over, the USA faced Pakistan’s bowler Mohammad Amir and scored 18-1. In response, Pakistan could only score 13-1, falling short by five runs, and thus losing the match.

Haris Rauf bowled the last over, but the situation turned against him. After being hit for a six on his fourth ball, the USA needed six runs from the last two balls. On the final delivery, with five runs required, Nitish Kumar scored a four, tying the scores and forcing the Super Over.
