UAE’s Humanitarian Gesture: Ship Laden with Aid Sets Sail for Gaza Ahead of Ramadan

In a gesture of solidarity and compassion, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has dispatched a ship loaded with essential supplies destined for Gaza.  Which Departed from Fujairah Port on Saturday, the vessel bears over 4,500 tonnes of aid, ranging from food and medicines to shelter materials, with a particular focus on supporting women and children in need.

Aid for Ramadan Preparation

As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, the aid is a timely intervention for Palestinians affected by the Israel Gaza conflict. The shipment, organized by UAE charitable groups, includes mattresses, tents, and other provisions crucial for the displaced population. The ship, proudly flying the UAE flag, is expected to reach Egypt’s Al Arish port in approximately 15 days. From there, the aid will be transported by lorries to the Rafah border, facilitating its distribution within Gaza.

Rashid Mubarak Al Mansouri’s Commitment

Rashid Mubarak Al Mansouri, the Secretary-General of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, emphasized the UAE’s commitment to supporting the people of Gaza during these challenging times. Overseeing the operation in Fujairah, he highlighted the diverse assistance, such as 154 tonnes of materials for temporary shelters and 87 tonnes of medical aid, onboard the ship.

Gallant Knight 3 Operation

This recent shipment is part of the UAE’s Gallant Knight 3 operation, demonstrating ongoing support for Palestinians. The UAE has consistently extended a helping hand, with this being the second ship dispatched in the past two months. Al Mansouri affirmed the UAE’s plans for continued aid, stating, “We plan to send more ships. When the ship reaches Arish, the material will move in trucks by land to Rafah.”

The UAE’s dedication to aiding Gaza is evident through past initiatives. The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works, the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, and the UAE Red Crescent Authority have been instrumental in providing vital assistance to those affected by the conflict.
