A strong magnitude earthquake of 6.4 hit Turkey and Syria border yesterday night, this aftershock was centered in the southernmost province of Hatay with a depth of 1.2 miles. Earlier two weeks before, Turkey and Syria witnessed a massive earthquake of history that killed thousands of people in both countries.
Suleyman Soylu, Interior Minister of Turkey told the media that three people died and more than 200 are injured in a late-night earthquake. The earthquake was felt in Hatay, near the capital of Antakya and the city of Defne, 200 kilometers north. A second aftershock also came and was recorded as 5.8 magnitude several minutes later.

The province of Hatay is located close to the Maditarean Sea and disaster management teams advised people to go far away from the coast as the earthquake might cause the sea level to rise up and it will be dangerous for citizens living near the sea. Syria’s Disaster management reported that 6 people are injured in Sana province while a lot of buildings also collapsed.
Massive Damage
Aftershocks in Turkey are continuing and causing a lot of damage to buildings, and massive structures are being destroyed in the region. There is a lot of fear in people that aftershocks are coming and it will destroy their lives. Rescue teams are on high alert and finding people under the rubble in collapsed buildings.
All the countries sent rescue aid to Turkey. Two days Before President of Turkey Rajab Tayyip Erdogan told through media that aid is enough and we are really grateful for all the countries that helped us in this natural disaster.

On February 6th, an earthquake of magnitude 7.6 and 7.8 struck Turkey and Syria in which more than 47000 people are killed and millions are homeless. An assistant professor of Geology Mehmut Kokum told the media that there had been 5000 aftershocks from February 6th till date.
