Asif Bahadur – District Police Officer – visited the Jabori Hydropower Project and examined its entire security plan and personnel’s deployment. The police officer also met Chinese engineers and workers and queried about the security arrangements made by the police and dam administration.

As per the new security arrangements, the labourers and other staffers at work on the project were being allowed in and out of the vicinity after a thorough body search.
It merits a mention that Suki Kinari is the only energy project being accomplished under CPEC across the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to media reports, the security of the entire project and its segments are on a high alert following the Dasu Hydropower project incident.
The Chinese personnel have been provided extra security since the Dasu incident and authorities have ensured that work on the energy project is well in progress.
There is an added alert in wake of Eid-al-Adha and it is being ensured that added layers of police personnel are deployed outside mosques during the Eid prayers.
At least 13 people, including two Pakistani soldiers and nine Chinese nationals, were killed when a blast sent a bus falling into a ravine in a remote region of northern Pakistan on Wednesday.
It was not immediately clear whether the explosion was a targeted attack or an accident, as conflicting reports emerged.
Work on the Dasu Hydropower Project was stopped after that and all Pakistani workers were expelled. The Chinese authorities however took back this order the next day.
