A terrible incident took place in Dera Ismail Khan of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday morning. Two police men lost their lives and three others were injured during a terrorist attack on an oil and gas company. The tragic incident took place in Darazandah Tehsil of DI Khan and left the police force in mourning. The bodies of the injured personnel and the fallen heroes have been shifted to the hospital where a policeman is in critical condition.

Brave policemen were appointed to protect the oil company.

It should be noted that this was the fifth terrorist attack in DI Khan in just five days. The situation is alarming and security forces are working tirelessly to ensure the safety of the area. On a previous occasion, suspected militants attacked the Gul Imam police station, injuring a police constable. Another policeman was injured during an attack by terrorists on a check post in Roori area of Kalachi tehsil. These attacks are a cause of serious concern.

The security situation in DI Khan has been deteriorating recently, with frequent incidents of violence and terrorism. Pakistan faces many big challenges in combating terrorism and militant attacks have increased over the past few months. According to the Center for Research and Security Studies, casualties among the security forces have risen sharply, with at least 386 personnel losing their lives in the first nine months of 2023.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan have been the main areas affected by this violence. Strict action against terrorists is required to ensure safety and welfare of people in DI Khan and across the country.
