President Dr. Arif Alvi has emphasized the importance of resolving the Kashmir dispute as an integral part of Pakistan’s foreign policy. In a message on Kashmir Solidarity Day, he urged India to repeal harsh laws in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and reverse the unilateral actions taken on August 5, 2019.
Highlighting the struggle of the people of IIOJK for the past 76 years, President Alvi called for India to permit UN-mandated investigations into human rights violations and implement relevant UN Security Council resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir. He expressed concern over the Indian Supreme Court’s judgment in December 2023, viewing it as an attempt to undermine the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people.
