pakistan observes day of morning today over ismail haniyehs killing
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the assassination of the Political Chief of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh. He termed it as a barbaric act and fragrant violation of international laws.
The killing has sparked widespread condemnation in Pakistan, Turkey, Malaysia, Russia, Iran, and China among others. While chairing a meeting in Islamabad, the Pakistani PM also noted that Haniyeh’s children and grandchildren were also killed brutally in the attack on Wednesday.
Other parliamentarians from allied political parties such as Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan People Party (PPP), Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Istehkam Pakistan Party (IPP), Pakistan Muslim League – Q (PML-Q), the National Party and Pakistan Muslim League Zia (PML-Z) attended the meeting.
In the meeting, it was decided that Pakistan will provide relief material and medical assistance to Palestine.
The bloodshed in Palestine and Gaza Strip over the 9 months has resulted in deaths of 40000 individuals including women and children, said PM Sharif. He accused Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu of ignoring verdicts of the International Courts of Justice and UN resolutions ultimately destroying Palestine.
He went on to say, “The world is silent over this barbarism. Such terrorism and extremism are highly commendable”. PM Sharif thanked western countries like Spain and Ireland for extending their support to the Palestine cause and the two state resolution.
The meeting condemned Israel’s actions in Palestine and declared August 2 as a national day of mourning in Pak to express solitude towards Palestine. The parliamentarians also have decided to offer funeral prayers towards the Hamas Political Chief. The members also called upon UN to abandon its neutral stance and take clear action to stop the Genocide going on in the Gaza Strip.
