Lahore High Court Upholds Printing of Nawaz Sharif’s Image on Kisan Card, Dismissing Plea

The Lahore High Court LHC has made a Decisive ruling Regarding the Printing of Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Picture on Kisan Cards in Punjab with Justice Shahid Karim dismissing a plea against this Practice filed by Citizen Mashkoor Hussain.

During the Court Proceedings the Punjab Government’s lawyer Clarified that the Decision to include Nawaz Sharif’s image on the Kisan Cards has not yet been Finalized. This follows a recent Challenge to the Decision where Hussain argued that utilizing Public funds for Personal Publicity even if approved by CM Maryam Nawaz Violates the Supreme Court’s Directives.

The Plea Highlighted Concerns over the Potential Misuse of National Resources for Personal Promotion and urged the Court to halt the Decision until the Matter is Resolved.

Despite the legal Challenge Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has given the Green light to the Nawaz Sharif Kisan Card Project as Part of Agricultural Reforms aimed at Uplifting farmers’ Socio-Economic Conditions in the Province. Under this initiative 500,000 small Farmers are set to Receive loans Totaling Rs150 Billion on favorable terms within a Year.

Furthermore Farmers will have access to loans amounting to Rs30,000 Per acre for Purchasing essential Agricultural inputs like Seeds, Fertilizers and Pesticides. The Nawaz Sharif Kisan Card Scheme also Promises Various Subsidies to Support Farmers in their Agricultural Endeavors.
