iPhone 15 Pro variants are the most expensive Apple smartphones in the market right now. It is everybody’s dream to buy an Apple smartphone, including all Pakistanis. However, the problem is not only do they have to pay the retail price of the phone but also a huge PTA tax for its registration in Pakistan. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has set the taxes for iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

The PTA Tax Slab for iPhone 15 Pro;

The iPhone 15 Pro comes with PTA Tax on Passport is Pakistani Rupees 135,300 and PTA Tax on CNIC is Pakistani Rupees 161,480.

The Tax Breakdown for the iPhone 15 Pro can be explained in;

For PTA Tax on Passport, the Customs Revenue is PKR 27,600, Sales Tax is PKR 50,229 and Direct mobile phone tax amounts to PKR 54,471.

For PTA Tax on CNIC, the Customs Revenue amounts to PKR 37007, Sales tax goes to 50229 and Direct Mobile Tax amounts to PKR 74244.

The total tax for iPhone 15 Pro Max comes at PKR 148500 for the Passport and PKR 176000 for CNIC.

The amount can be broken down to 3 segments, the Customs value, the Sales Tax and the Direct Mobile Tax. These amounts to 27600, and 37007 respectively for Passport and CNIC segments chargeable at Customs Duty, 59663 in Sales Tax for both Passport and CNIC and varies only at Direct Mobile Tax where the amounts are 61,237 and 82,330 respectively differing for Passport and CNIC segments.

These taxes show that the items are pretty highly charged in the country limiting it only for high end users. This is very contrasting to other countries such as the USA, UAE and India where the prices are comparatively cheaper due to the lesser tax on the devices.
